    Meltzer Lippe is seeking a mid-level Estate Litigation Associate for its growing, exciting and fast-paced Estate Litigation practice group. Qualified candidate must have at least 3-5 years of Trust & Estates and/or Commercial Litigation experience, excellent writing, oral communication and time management/organization skills. Candidates must also have general experience with business entities. A general knowledge of estate planning and administration issues and strategies is a plus.

    Compensation:  The salary range for this position is $145,000 – $300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.  The firm also offers a competitive benefits package.

    Experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney – Estate Administration

    Our Trust and Estate group is nationally renowned and provides high level and complex tax, estate planning and asset preservation for executives of major public and private companies, real estate developers and investors, successful entrepreneurs and business owners, high net worth individuals, multi-national businesses and many non-profit institutions, including a substantial international estate and tax planning practice.

    Our experienced group has over 25 Trusts and Estates attorneys and over 10 paralegals—including several ACTEC Fellows, adjunct law professors and leaders in the ABA and New York State Bar Association. Our sophisticated services in this field include asset preservation, wills and trusts, family limited partnerships, GRATs, GRIPs, Private Annuities, Freeze partnerships, dynasty trusts, charitable trusts, business succession planning, international estate planning, installment sales, state domicile and residence issues, charitable organizations and their for profit affiliates, estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxes planning, personal tax planning, asset planning, restructuring, post mortem estate planning, gift and estate tax audits and estate administration.     Mid-Level Tax Associate

    Meltzer Lippe is currently seeking to hire a graduate with an LLM in taxation. Areas of practice include domestic and international tax planning for high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, investment real estate, sales, exchanges, lease and property refinancing.  IRC Section 1031 tax-free exchanges, installment sales, long term lease agreements and sale-leasebacks.  Business and investment transactions, tax-free reorganization and exchanges, business transfer and restructurings.

    Compensation:  The salary range for this position is $225,000 – $400,000, depending on experience and qualifications.  The firm also offers a competitive benefits package.

    Litigation Attorney

    Our litigation practice seeks an attorney to join our commercial litigation group. Must have 4+ years of experience with federal and state courts dealing with corporate and commercial disputes. Qualified candidate should have strong writing skills, including taking depositions, writing motions and witness prep.

    Compensation:  The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $325,000, depending on experience and qualifications.  The firm also offers a competitive benefits package.

    Estate Administration Paralegal

    Our Estate Administration group is seeking a full-time, experienced paralegal to work in the area of trust and estate administration. Organization and attention to detail are extremely important in this fast paced office. The ideal candidate is extremely empathetic and capable of offering the highest level of service to our clients. Professionalism and teamwork are prized, someone who can work well with attorneys, co-workers, clients and their various advisors, such as accountants and financial planners, and the court.

    Responsibilities include all facets of trust and estate administration, including communicating with clients and their family members, accountants and financial advisors. Responsibility would also include, preparing and filing all Surrogate’s Court pleadings; gathering assets in a decedent’s estate; assist in valuing decedent’s assets as of the date of death; preparation of the estate tax returns and Form 8971; assist in the distribution of the estate including the preparation of assignments, deeds.

    Minimum of 2 years (preferably 3+ years) solid trust & estate paralegal experience along with a bachelor’s degree and a paralegal certificate or equivalent. Highly proactive with attention to detail, dependable, and extremely organized. Excellent math and computer skills, including at least intermediate command of Word and Excel. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent proofreading skills and clear and concise communication skills.
